The Hannover Modell: an Overview

These modules accompany students step by step to their master’s degree. The program consists of the following components:

Country Coordinators

Country coordinators (members of the partner universities) can help address and answer any questions you may have about the program. They are in contact both with the administration of your home university and with you, the future program participant. These coordinators, along with their partners at Leibniz Universität Hannover, arrange the program for qualified applicants.

Selection and Admission

Once a preliminary selection has been made, you must pass an admission test in your area of study. This test is designed and corrected by the pertinent faculties at Leibniz Universität Hannover. Further prerequisites for admission to the university are: a complete bachelor’s degree and the TestDaF language test with a minimum score of TestDaF 4 x 4.

Preparation at Home

While you are still at home, your home university, your country coordinator and Leibniz Universität Hannover will help you prepare for your studies in Hannover. The most important preparations will involve both your area of study and the German language. Professors from Leibniz Universität Hannover teach intensive courses at selected partner universities and will prepare you for the entrance exam in your area of study. You should also take a language course to prepare yourself for the TestDaF. The minimum acceptable score for this test is TestDaF 4 x 4.

Academic, Social and Linguistic Support at Leibniz Universität Hannover

Once you have registered at Leibniz Universität Hannover, we will provide you with a package of support services. These services include a language course, subject tutorials and help integrating into everyday life. Part of this includes an airport pickup service and help looking after all the necessary bureaucratic steps (registration, immigration authorities, etc.).
