Scholarships “Strategic partnership with St.Petersburg Polytechnic University”

The International Office awards scholarships financed by the DAAD to students and PhD students from Leibniz Universität Hannover in support of study related stays at St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in Russia.

The maximum period for a scholarship is 6 months.

The announcement and disbursement of the scholarships are subject to the approval from the DAAD.

Who can apply?

Full-time enrolled students and PhD students in all subjects at Leibniz Universität Hannover.

Simultaneous claim to scholarships from different sources:

A scholarship awarded within this program excludes the acceptance of any other scholarship from the DAAD (for example: PROMOS, individual DAAD-scholarships, etc.). Equally, a scholarship within this program cannot be accepted at the same time as a “Germany-scholarship”.

Other public or private additional scholarships will basically be recognized to the full extent onto the scholarship from the DAAD.

There following regulations concern the scholarships from the “Begabtenförderungswerke” (institutions for the support of talent): Should a scholarship holder of the “Begabtenförderungswerke” (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, Cusanuswerk, Evangelisches Studienwerk Villigst, Hand-Böckler-Stiftung, Stiftung der deutschen Wirtschaft, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, Bundesstiftung Rosa Luxemburg, Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung and the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung) receive the DAAD scholarship, the acceptance of an international allowance and any additional allowances for the study abroad period from the “Begabtenförderungswerke” are not permitted.

Continuing allowances from the “Förderwerke” in Germany will be recognized to the full extent onto the DAAD scholarship for graduate students and up to 512 Euros for undergraduate students. The allowance for books from the “Förderungswerke”  is not affected by the aforementioned.

What will be supported?

For students and PhD students of Leibniz Universität Hannover:

Study and research stay (min.3 weeks, up to a max. 6 months) only in 2013 - 2016

  • A monthly scholarship of 925 Euros

  • A travel allowance

    • 175 Euros for stays up to 3 months
    • 200 Euros for stays between 3 and 6 months

Specialised courses and workshops (up to the maximum of 8 days)

  • A travel allowance of 175 Euro in 2013 - 2016; 275 Euro in 2017-2018
  • A daily expense allowance of 45 Euro (in exceptional cases)

Summer school (minimum of 14 days, up to a maximum of 28 days)

  • A travel allowance of 175 Euro in 2013 - 2016; 275 Euro in 2017-2018
  • A daily expense allowance of 45 Euro (in exceptional cases)

For PhD students:

Participation at a conference at the partner university in Russia (up to 5 days)

  • Reimbursement of the travel costs in accordance with the German Travel Expenses Act (BRKG)
  • Reimbursement of the participants’ fee
  • Reimbursement of the costs of stay in accordance with the German Travel Expenses Act (BRKG)

 

For students and PhD students of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University:

Study and research stay (minimum of 3 weeks, up to a maximum of 6 months)

  • A monthly scholarship of 400 Euro, only in 2013 - 2016

Specialised courses and workshops (up to the maximum of 8 days)

  • A daily expense allowance of 50 Euro (in exceptional cases)

Summer school (minimum of 14 days, up to a maximum of 28 days)

  • A weekly expenseallowance of 250 Euro (in exceptional cases)

 Application deadlines:

  • 15th February for all impending stays abroad within that same year
  • 15th June for all impending stays abroad within that same year
  • 15th November for all stays abroad planned for the following year

*Applications for short-term stays abroad can be accepted in justified exceptional cases and in agreement.

Scholarships are awarded in accordance with the directive to the “Leibniz PROMOS” scholarships.

·      Completed and printed out online application form of Leibniz Universität Hannover

·      Application form for a DAAD scholarship “strategic partnership”

·     Reference from a university lecturer

·      CV in tabular form

·      Letter of motivation, included reasons for choosing the stay abroad

·      Evidence of knowledge of the tuition language

·      Grade overview including average grade (can be obtained from the “Prüfungsamt” (central office for examinations) or similar evidence of study grades. If applicable, intermediate diplomas and grade certificates

Attention! Only fully completed applications will be accepted!

Please hand in the fully completed application during the opening hours at the “Auslandsstudienberatung” at the Service Center of Leibniz Universität Hannover.

The opening hours are: Monday to Thursday from 10 - 13 o’clock
